Where the Consul-General Goes

RAMALLAH, November 1, 2012 (WAFA)- American Consul General in Jerusalem Michael A. Ratney visited the Mahmoud Darwish Museum in Ramallah to honor the lasting legacy of the famed poet and his impact on Palestinian culture, said a press release by the American Consulate in Jerusalem on Thursday.
This visit also highlights the Consulate General’s support of art, literature, and creative expression in Palestinian society, said the release.

Mahmoud Darwish, born in 1941 and died in 2008, was a Palestinian poet and author who won numerous awards for his literary output and was regarded as the Palestinian national poet.

You remember Darwish?

He of the "and take your graves with you".   His poem "Passing Between passing Words", that even the NYTimes took note of.

Odd place to visit.
